Policies


These policies and practices are stated here so that you, the renter, will know what to expect. The philosophy behind these practices is to give you the best opportunity to enjoy the cottage and to protect and care for the cottage.



Money Back Guarantee

We want you to be satisfied ... more than that, we want you to be thrilled with your stay at the Arch Rock Cottage. Please let us know if there is any problem - we want to make it right for you and we want to make sure that nobody else has the same difficulty.

If we are unable to satisfy your complaint then we will refund a portion of your rent, up to the entire amount if necessary.



Rates

Summer season & holidays = $750 CAD / week
Off-season = $550 CAD / week

Rental weeks go from Saturday to Saturday. Off-season rental weeks may be negotiated for different periods.

Summer season begins on Saturday at the start of the last full rental week of June and ends on Saturday following the first Monday (Labour Day) in September.

Deposits

A security deposit is required to rent the Arch Rock Cottage. The deposit amount is approximately 1/2 of a week's rent and will be refunded at the end of your stay, assuming there is no damage.

The security deposit is to cover significant damage or missing items. Of course you are not responsible for normal wear and tear or for normal and expected maintenance.

If you send a deposit to reserve the cottage then this will be used for your security deposit during your stay.

Payment

Rent and security deposit must be paid in advance. When you arrive at the cottage, we can only accept cash, travelers checks or money order. Advanced payment by check may be arranged.

If you have prepaid your deposit, please be prepared to pay the full rent in cash when you arrive.

If you have not prepaid your deposit, please be prepared to pay the full rent plus the security deposit in cash when you arrive.

Deposit Refunds

At the end of your stay, the cottage caretaker will make a walk-through inspection and will make an immediate cash refund of your deposit, assuming there is no damage.



Cancellation Refunds

If you need to cancel your reservation, please let us know as soon as possible.
  • Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel more than 4 weeks before your intended stay.
  • Between 4 and 2 weeks, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
  • Within 2 weeks of your stay, the reservation deposit is not refundable.


Rental Agreement And Release Of Liability

One of the most appealing aspects of the Arch Rock Cottage is the unimpeded exposure to the shoreline along the yard's south edge. However, the cliff that drops down to the shore is a danger of which you must be aware and for which you must take responsibility for your own safety.

We ask you to sign a Rental Agreement And Release Of Liability acknowledging the risk that you or someone in your party could injure yourself at the cliff or along the shoreline and releasing us from claims if you do.

Check-In and Check-Out Times

The hard-working folks who take care of the cottage need time to get it ready for each guest. Please plan to:

Check-in no earlier than 3:00 PM on your first scheduled day.
Check-out no later than 11:00 AM on your last scheduled day.



Canadian and U.S. Currencies

Rent at the Arch Rock Cottage is priced in Canadian dollars. As a courtesy to our U.S. visitors, we provide US dollar pricing and will accept payment in US dollars.
  • Your rental price and currency are set at the time of your reservation.
  • If your reservation is in one currency but you wish to pay in the opposite currency when you arrive, then the payment amount will be determined at the prevailing exchange rate plus a 5% fee.
  • If fluctuations in the exchange rate mean that you would pay more than the prevailing price then we will reduce your price accordingly.
  • We cannot provide currency exchange services.
