Acadian Peninsula Outing


Just a couple of hour's drive along the North Shore from the Arch Rock Cottage takes you to the Acadian Peninsula and some fun places to visit:


Historic Acadian Village

The Village Historique Acadien is an authentic operating 1800's village - a living museum with staff interpreters in period costumes who bring traditional customs and crafts to life.

Location = West along route 11 about 50 km past Bathurst, about 15 km before Caraquet. Distance = 145 km from the cottage, about 1:45 hours drive.


New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine Center

The New Brunswick Department of Tourism operates this fascinating aquarium, museum and interpretive center. Also on-site is an authentic lighthouse that you can go inside.

Location = Along route 113 in Shippagan, a few km past the Acadian Village and Caraquet.
Distance = 180 km from the cottage, about 2:00 hours drive.
