In the Battle Of The Restigouche, during colonial times, a french marine named Bonamy
was wounded and was set ashore to be cared for by Dalhousie folks. Bonamy recovered
and lived out his life on the North Shore. Legend has it that Bonamy was buried on the
cottage grounds just beyond the birch trees in this picture. Bonamy's ghost
sometimes reappears to frighten away interlopers or play practical jokes.

Mont Saint Joseph
Looking north east from the yard, you can see Quebec's Mont Saint Joseph
across the Bay de Chaleur. Mont Saint Joseph is a great
outing from the cottage.

Magnified view of Mont Saint Joseph
Visible is the road to the top and, barely visible, the cathedral building
on top of the mountain.

Perrenials planted by cottage founder
My great grandmother planted these and other growing things around the yard.
She decided on the site and had the cottage built.
